“As Close as I’ll Get” is one of my favorite songs. It was a painful process, to be honest. Because I had to face a serious sense of emptiness and pointlessness. And it was exacerbated by the fact that at the time, I was falling for someone who let me in somewhat, but only showed me the light without letting me get really close to it. I was hurting bad at the time. I was listening to a lot of Joy Division at the time… Go figure!
